🛠 HOW THIS CLASS WORKS
This is a 3-day in-person workshop.
Day 1 is a "classroom" day. We'll cover how adults learn, how to write effective learning outcomes, and creating lesson plans. Over the day, you'll create a lesson plan for your first mini-lesson! 💡 We recommend you come prepared
with some mini-lesson ideas. On Days 2 and 3, each participant will deliver a 10-minute mini-lesson and receive feedback. Before we dive in, we'll discuss effective feedback and how to give it. Everyone will get a solid understanding of what they are already good at and what skill they can work on next. (This part feels good, we promise!)

🎯 LEARNING OUTCOMES
As we’ll discuss on Day 1, Learning Outcomes are learner-centred statements that describe what participants should know or be able to do by the end of a workshop, lesson, or assignment.
By the end of the Instructional Skills Lab, participants will:
What are your personal learning outcomes for the course? Think about what you want to learn and the skills you want to practice. (Jot down your ideas!) This will help guide your mini-lessons. This workshop is your opportunity to try something new. We don’t expect perfection. (In fact, we expect some bumps as you try out new things!) Lean into what Heart says and have some fun with it. |
