Leigh AytonWORKSHOP COORDINATOR, FACILITATOR
Leigh was born and raised in Ontario and has lived in Whitehorse on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and Ta'an Kwäch’än Council since 2011. She graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts and Science and the University of Toronto with a Master of Social Work. Leigh worked for nearly 10 years in the areas of harm reduction, HIV care, and substance abuse prevention and treatment. In her role as the AURORA Workshop Coordinator she is excited to support diverse communities in maximizing their learning and workplace potential. Outside of work you’ll find her biking year-round and trying her hardest to finally grow a tomato North of 60.

Fawn FritzenWORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR & COMMUNICATIONS
Fawn has a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University and a diverse background both culturally and professionally. She speaks English and French, as well as her ancestral languages German and Mandarin Chinese. Born in Anemki Wequedong (Thunder Bay), she has lived in all three northern territories, settling in Kwanlin (Whitehorse) in 2005. Fawn has been a bookkeeper, business analyst, event producer, airline customer service associate, and recording jazz artist. In her role with AURORA Workshops, Fawn loves to help workshop participants to continue their learning, connecting them with the latest news in brain science and education research. Outside of work, she chauffeurs her teenage children and produces Cafe des Voix.

Stephanie HammondWORKSHOP FACILITATOR
Stephanie graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts and from Lakehead University with a Bachelor of Education. She brings varied experiences as an educator to AURORA. She has led a Montessori middle school program in BC, instructed Biology in Ghana and taught in mainstream and alternative education classrooms in Ontario. In her role as Executive Director of LDAY, Stephanie continues to advocate for all learners in the workplace.
